Sephora Pantone Jewels: Violet Quartz

I was very excited when RJ and I were going to be at the Chandler Fashon Center a few weeks ago, because that meant I got to stop through Sephora! I have been lemming for these since I saw the first photos, and so far I only have one. *sigh*

I absolutely love this color - I wore it all week after I got it.

Sephora Pantone Jewels - Violet Quartz - 3  coats

This is an awesome deep purple with a brassy duochrome shift to it. You seem to notice the shift a little more in the bottle than on your nails, but in sunlight it is visible. I really loved the shimmer in this one - It didn't brighten the purple, instead it gave it a much more deep look to it.

The formula on this was very smooth and easy to work with. No issues with streaking or pulling. The only thing that was a bit awkward is the short brush. They always seem a little strange and uncomfortable to use - but that didnt affect the application.

There are 2 other shades from this collection I would really love to pick up while I can. There may be another Sephora run in my future!!

Have you tried any from this collection?

Sephora + Pantone! (part2)

I apologize for the lack of posting lately, I know I said it before. I have been working on the challenge and cant quite seem to make it back over here to type up a post. I know, its no excuse. And I have a back log of photos to share!!

Here I have the last two versions of the Sephora + Pantone collection if the awesome Tangerine Tango!

I give you; Matte & Glitter!

This is 2 coats of the Matte and 1.5 coats of Glitter.

I used only 2 coats of the Matte to create a solid finish. I still had VNL (visible nail lines), however I was planning on using the Glitter on the tips so I didn't need to worry about it. If I wore this on it's own there would be at least 3 coats. I then free handed the Glitter. You can tell the free handed-ness on a couple nails, but I was pleased overall. The final finish of this matte is smooth. It doesn't seem to had that strange matte feeling to touch like other mattes have (i.e. Essie's Matte About You). My only complaint is that this matte seemed to take a while to try. Longer than any of the other bottles from the collection. Overall, I like this collection and glad I picked it up. I got it on a whim while Sephora had a discount code for online purchases of 15% or so. I was never much of a fan of orange nail polish and it is slowly growing on me - especially after this collection. Its such a great shade of orange and all of these versions complement each other so well!

Sephora + Pantone! (part1)

I broke down and had to get my paws on these lovely collection. When I got an email from Sephora about this new line I was unsure about the orange. I saw one set of swatches and was sold!

I didnt realize they came in such an awesome box - one I am keeping for sure! I can tend to be a sucker for packaging!

The four lovely Tangerine Tango in Shimmer, Matte, Creme, and Glitter!

The Bonsai photo bombed - literally after I snapped the prior photo she jumped on the desk and lied down behind the box.

For the swatches I used my usual base coat, 3 coats of the Creme (I still had Visible Nail Line after 2) and used shimmer on top of the ring fingers for an accent. This is an AMAZING shimmer! You can easily layer it on its own. Then topped off with a quick coat of Seche Vita so i could go to sleep. The paint job isn't my best - I was sitting on my bed rather than at my desk. When I do this it tends to not be as neat around the sides.

Overall - I am very pleased with this collection! The tangerine shade is lovely, and the set just complements itself so well! The formula is very easy to work with, and wear isn't too bad either. Took these after wearing it to work one day (I type all day long and with my nails so any polish on my tips tends to wear quickly). I would have liked to see the creme come out as a 1, maybe 2 coater, but the end result is still lovely! I kept looking at my nails as I typed at work today! I will combine the Matte and the Glitter in my next post...I'm feeling a tape mani coming on!
