Novembers BirchBox for Men!

Hello lovelies! Tonight I have my awesome fiance, RJ with me to share his thoughts about Novembers BirchBox Man! So grab the men in your house and check out RJs thoughts with this months box!

And if they seem interested, they can join here at Birchbox!

Novembers BirchBox for Men!

Hello, all. Once again another Birchbox Men is up for review.

Atelier Cologne Vétiver Fatal - This is a citrus / musky scented cologne. It is lightly scented but I'm not a 100% sure how long through the day it will last.

Old Calgary Oxford Wallet - A very simple wallet. It's great for holding a couple of cards. It a nice front pocket wallet but not the greatest for holding cash in it. A money clip would be better for holding any cash you carry. The wallet is nice and holding up good so far. It kind of forces you to keep your wallet cleaned out and only carry what you really need on a daily basis. As for the rest of it, they get the job done.
PETER THOMAS ROTH Mega-Rich™ Shampoo Conditioner - This is an ok shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo doesn't seem to lather up that well. These work well and don't leave the hair feeling all oily, it also rinses out easily. The more I use the shampoo and conditioner, the more I'm liking it. Not sure if this will the one that I stick with.
Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser - This face wash is great! It makes you want to eat your face. While using this, it smells just like the lemon-drop candies. This is a sugar scrub and does a great job at exfoliating the skin.

John Allan's Cool Face - This is a lightly scented aftershave. It does a good job at fighting irritation and leaves the skin nice a moisturized.

Overall, I liked enjoyed this box. The best thing out of this was the face wash. Great scent and does a great job. I was sad when I ran out, but I look forward to picking it up very soon!

RJ Reviews Octobers Birchbox for Men!

Somehow in all that we had going on the last two weeks, RJ was awesome enough to take a moment and share his thoughts on the October Birchbox for Men. Let me tell you, I had some Birchbox envy with this one. I really wish they would include a neat little something that isn't a perfume or shampoo sample to mix it up a little. Anyway, enough from me. Lets get to RJs thoughts on the box!

Another month, another collection of Birchbox goodies. This months included a nice mix of items.

Cartier Déclaration: A light cedar-wood scented cologne. This makes for a nice fall scented cologne that applies lightly.

Oribe Supershine Moisturizing Cream: This maybe my favorite hair product so far. It works well in dry or damp hair and when used in damp hair, it doesn't quite leave that 'still wet' look. Plus it leaves the hair looking good. It might have something to do with the shimmer that is in the product.

When I used this for the first time, I found something like glitter on my hands and I couldn't figure it out. I asked Kristin if she had done something with glitter nail polish and got it on me, but she hadn't changed her nails that night, and no glitter. I got home and looked at the packed for this and found the shimmer in it. It doesn't get all over the place, so your face isn't glittery or anything, I just needed to wash my hands off better after using it.

Kiehl's Creme de Corps: This is a nice lotion. It's not too thick and doesn't leave an oily or heavy feeling.

The Art of Shaving® Pre-Shave Oil: Another great shaving product. This was an unscented version but yet had a slight earthy scent to it. Helps for a great smooth shave. It you haven't used anything else besides a gel shaving cream, I would really recommend getting this along with a shaving cream.

Birchbox Jigger: (not currently available on birchbox.com) Something that no home bar collection should be without. Easiest way to ensure that your mixes are done to the correct proportions.

Teroforma Whisky Stones: Like your drinks on the rocks? Then this is a must for you. Keeps your drink nice and cool. Just a warning, it will not water the drink down. Now I just need to find a good sipping whiskey and rum.

RJ reviews September's Birchbox for Men!

Tonight I have my awesome fiance, RJ with me to share his thoughts about Septembers BirchBox Man! I gotta hand it to him, he is doing very well with these! With a little coaching on things to look for, and a deadline (otherwise I would get it 2 months later! hehe! ♥) he is starting to have a little fun.

So grab the men in your house and check out RJs thoughts with this months box! And don't get too excited when he talks about his undies! He's already taken! ♥

And if they seem interested, they can join here at Birchbox!

Hello all. It's that time of the month again, Birchbox Man. This was about going back to the basics. The box included Zirh's Clean Face Wash, Balla Powder's Original Powder, Oribe's Creme for Style, Bvlgari Man's Eau De Toilette, and MeUndies's Boxer Brief. Overall, this was a great selection of products to try out.

Zirh's Face wash: Yep another facewash. But hey, it takes a lot to find the right one. There has got to be something out there to keep it nice and clean. Overall, this was a great face wash. It has a very light citrusy scent to it and is gental on the skin. It does a good job and you have a nice clean feeling after wards.

Balla Powder's Orginal Powder: I have never used a powder deodorant before and wasn't completely sure how to approach using this. They recommend using it on the under arms and feet, so that's what I did. I really enjoyed using the powder. It has a slight scent to it and does a good job at keeping things dry without drying out the skin. But if you go using this for the underarm, I recommend still using a deoderant and then follow up with this powder.

Oribe's Creme for Style: I really liked this. It may become my go to choice for hair product. I've used different gels and paste type hair products, even hair sprays, but nothing else that I've used seems to compare to this. Well, maybe I've been using the wrong product, but I really like the creme. It has a nice light scent to it. Works well if applied to wet, damp or even dry hair. If used with wet hair, it keeps the 'still wet' look to it and doesn't flake. When used with dry hair, it's easy to style and holds it too.

Bvlgari Man's Eua De Toilette: This was okay. It is a nice lighter musky scented cologne and can be easily worn all day.

MeUndies's Boxer Brief: These are nice. I'm usually a boxer's kinda guy but these are nice and comfy. The fabric stays put and keeps things where they're suppose to be. The waistband is great on these as well. The tag isn't the kind that gets all twisted, and the stitching used isn't rough or scrtachy at all. They also look good too! One good thing to know with these, however, is that there is no extra hole to help out when nature calls.

August BirchBox Review!

I have to admit, my relationship with Birchbox starting out was a little rocky. I would receive products I would rarely, or even never use. If some of you remember about 4 months ago I mentioned I was considering switching to something different. The last 2 months, and now this month has slowly gotten better and I have found myself looking forward to trying almost all of the new goodies.

So, on with what I received, and what I thought about it!

Beauty School Booklet! - Not only did this include the standard list of items in the box, but it is also full great tips!
  • "Tools of the Trade" listing must have tools for very ones make-up bag or train case
  • "How to Read a Label" which lists what certain markings on products can mean, such as; Preservative free, Active Ingredients  and so on. "
  • "5 Tips to  Better Shave" listing tips to help with achieving the :smoothest legs ever."
  • "Makeup Quick Fixes" which lists tips on correcting too much blush, Melted makeup and more
  • "Super Speedy Skin Care" A guide to be in and out of the bathroom in 3 minutes or less
Jouer Moisturizing Lip Gloss in BirchBox Pink
This little guy I did not try - I am not a very big lip gloss person, and the color seemed a bit to pink for my fair skin. I prefer lip stains and lipstick, which I can easily layer with my chapstick much easier. I find that combo to be much more comfortable and not sticky or gooey.

Juicy Couture - Vival la Juicy La Fleur
Oh boy! Another perfume sample! haha! This seems to be a standard with every month. Something I really dont mind being that those little vials last a long time for me. I havent smelled this, honestly, my sinuses have been bothering my very badly the last few weeks and I have been staying clear of unfamiliar scents.

Oribe Shampoo & Conditioner for Beautiful Color
Another product I havent tried yet. I have had some issues with my hair reacting with certain products, even some I've used for years, and leaving it an oily mess for some unknown reason. I know that stress can cause changes in your hair, and I was going through a lot of that. Its just about back to normal again so I dont want to chance anything right now. I am planning on getting my hair colored again in October, so I think I will save them until then.

This has got the be my all time favorite BirchBox item since I have started my subscription. When this runs low I will be purchasing it! A little goes a long way, I learned this very quickly the first time I used it! The $20 price tag is very reasonable to me with how little I use each time. I have religiously used the same shaving gel for years, and I wont go back! I used this for my legs, and bikini area, and it is wonderful. It is lightly scented, they offer Pomegranate or Almond, and it applies almost like a rich lotion. No foam or lather. It made for a very easy and smooth shave, with almost no redness or irritation afterwards (especially in the bikini area!) I have very very dry skin, thank you Arizona hard water, so once I dry off my legs are immediately dry and ashy. This protects my skin from drying out with wonderful ingredients like squalene, organic shea butter, jojoba oil, and coconut oil.

Last but not least Birchbox threw in a Schick Hydro Silk.
This guy I am not a fan of. I use the Gillette Venus, and the handle of the Schick is angled completely opposite to the Gillette. This makes it very awkward to use in angled areas, such as the bikini area. I also feel that 5 blades is just overkill. I get the same results with 4 and a good shave cream (like above! ♥) I think I will stick with my Gilette Venus for this department!

So there you have it ladies! What are your thought and feelings about these products? Have you tried any? Tell me what you think!!

August Birchbox Man by RJ!

I've got my awesome fiance, RJ, here to share what he got in this months BirchBox Man!!

Grab your honey, or brother, or dad...any man who likes to look good, and check out his opinions on what he got this month!

If you are interested in signing up for BirchBox OR BirchBox Man you can do so by going HERE

So lets get on with it shall we?

Hello all! It's a other month, a other Birchbox Man. This month's box contained a sample of Oribe's Ultra Gentle Shampoo and Conditioner, Kiehl's Ultimate Brushless Shave Cream - White Eagle, Marvis's Classic Mint Toothpaste, C.O. Bigelow's My Favorite Lip Balm, and a Barking Irons' Brando cut T-shirt.

Oribe's Ultra Gentle Shampoo and Conditioner: This is a nice lightly scented shampoo and conditioner. This is worked great for me. It's simple. None of this anti-oilness or whatever formula, it's exactly what I need.

Kiehl's Ultimate Brushless Shave Cream: This is a nice shaving cream. Granted that I have never used a shaving cream, just the gel stuff, this is much nicer to use. The blade slide nice and smooth on the skin. It's just a little harder to clean off of the razor though but worth it.

Marvis's Classic Mint Toothpaste: This is just a simple toothpaste. It has a nice light mint flavor to it. As for how it does on the pearly whites, it leaves them nice and squeaky clean. Literally! Plus it doesn't leave much of an after taste, which is good if you don't wan that minty taste in your mouth for an hour.

C.O. Bigelow's My Favorite Lip Balm: To me, this is ok. It's easy to apply, and feels very light on. Its not thick and sticky like I was half expecting. It also has almost no scent. I'm sure I will love this once winter starts but until then I'm not sure how well the protection is going to hold up.

Barking Irons' Brando Cut T-shirt: This is one of my new favorite shirts. It's simple and very comfy. Easily works as just a daily wear shirt or it also works nicely as an undershirt. The cut on the sleeves are perfect for short sleeve collared shirts, as some undershirt sleeves can tend to be a little too long. This is something I will be getting in the future.

Have you or anyone you know tried the BirchBox Man yet? Would the man in your life be interested in trying out these items to keep looking great?

July Mens BirchBox by RJ!

Its time for another awesome Men's BirchBox review from my awesome fiance, RJ! These have been very impressive so far. While they are $20/mo, they really keep up with the value! We were a little weary at first but so far RJ's been very please with the subscription.

If you are interested in either Womens or Mens Birchbox, you can get on the list HERE

I've tried a little different format for the info/RJs review. It seems to work a little better and is much easier as he just emails his reviews to me and I paste them in. I think I might start incorporating this with my BirchBox reviews too - Give a change to share a little info on the product from BirchBox as well. Let me know what you think! I wrote up the reviews for the last two items since I took the additional photos to show how they worked.

So grab your boyfriend, hubby, sweet, friends, or any of your Men that aren't afraid to take care of their skin and play with fun goodies as RJ shares his thoughts!

It's that time again, the Men's Birchbox for July. This one came with some nice goodies. Included within the box this month was the following: Quirky Cordies, Quirky Wrapster, BENTA BERRY Super Moisturizing Face Cream for Men, Supersmile Professional Whitening System, and June Jacobs for Men 3 in 1 Cleanser.

Birchbox Breakdown
"If you want a blindingly white smile but would prefer not give up coffee and red wine for the rest of your life, the Supersmile Whitening system is the way to go. With both a whitening toothpaste and a whitening accelerating agent to speed things up, you’ll get your pearly whites back fast without the hassle and expense of professional whitening."

What RJ Thought
This works nicly. I've used this for about three days so far and I've been noticing a difference. And I've still have some left too. Not that I need it but its nice to whiten-up.

June Jacobs for Men 3 in 1 Cleanser

Birchbox Breakdown
"Most two-for-one products perform about as well as a weary pitcher forced to pitch both games of a double-header. This brawny cleanser offers a heroic 3-in-1 formula for use on your entire body, face, and hair, and it has no trouble going the distance. Rich and lightly scented, it’ll also cut your shower time in half."

What RJ Thought
I don't know what to make of this. This can be used as an all-in-one wash. I've only been using it as a body and face wash. It does an ok job. It doesn't lather up that much but that could be due to the hard Arizona Water.

BENTA BERRY Super Moisturizing Face Cream for Men

Birchbox Breakdown
"This even-keeled moisturizer is designed to keep your skin balanced (read: not too dry, not too oily). Ideal for all skin types, the all-natural formula hydrates without clogging pores, and it dries to a matte finish (so you don’t have to worry about break-outs or forehead shine)."

What RJ Thought
This is a nice lightly scented moistuizer. It works nicely too. It doesn't leave an oily feeling behind and absorbs nicly into the skin.

Birchbox Breakdown
"When you store your earbuds in your pocket or backpack, they typically go in neatly folded like a new pair of shoelaces, but come out looking more like a ball of dried out spaghetti. This small and durable plastic contraption is designed to keep your headphones organized and detangled as they go in and out of your pocket."

What We Thought
Its pretty awesome! Its a cool way to wrap up your head phones without having to unravel and untwist then when your ready to use them again. RJ let me use this one since I use my headphones much more while Im at work. Thats cooler is that it doubles as a phone stand! I included a couple of photos (below) with my phone and headphones. Its $5 on Birchbox, really a reasonable price for quick and easy headphone storage!

Birchbox Breakdown
"Desktop cable management may not be sexy, but neither is rooting around on your hands and knees amidst the mounting dust bunnies under your desk looking for your fallen power charger. Cordies keeps all your power cords, phone chargers, and audio cables in order so you can plug in and unplug easily and quickly."

What We Think
Another awesome item! This is coated so it wont slip - and your cords wont either, and it is weighted at the bottom to stay put. Its pretty straight forward but sure cool and handy! Its great at the edge of your desk for the cables your always switching out all the time like your camera, phone, tablet, and iPod! While I change out my cables way more frequently than RJ does he is using this one as my cables are easier accessible than mine. I've included a couple of photos below!

June Birchbox + Review!

This month I am happy that I haven't cancelled my Birchbox subscription! I really enjoy everything it included this month!

So on with the goodies!

The whole package deal :)

KELLY VAN GOGH WONDERLUST Hair Colour Protecting & Illuminating Tonic
http://www.birchbox.com/shop/june2012-box/kelly-van-gogh-wonderlust
This is awesome - Instant sheen in a bottle!
I cant use this much now and my hair is very sensitive to oils and serums and the smallest amount gives me a oily-to-touch 'do and I cant handle that. My hair has to feel clean! But I want to give this another shot this winter as its very dry in AZ at that time!

theBalm cosmetics Stainiac - in Beauty Queen
http://www.birchbox.com/shop/june2012-box/the-balm-stainiac
Love before use!
I am a sucker for lip-stains. I am one of those addicted to lip balm/chapstick people and lipsticks and glosses just don't stand a change to it, really. I love lip-stains for just this reason! This color is great and is nice and bold. It even survives a day of wear at work through 5 glasses of water and 3 million chappy applications!

Clark's Botanicals Ultra Rich Lip Tint - in Moor Nude
http://www.birchbox.com/shop/june2012-box/clarks-botanicals-ultra-rich-lip-tint
Bummed I got a lousy color. Honestly.
The formula is nice and it feels great on - not sticky or gooey - but this shade is virtually invisible. It is very sheer and I literally couldn't tell it was on. This can be good for some scenarios for sure!

LA FRESH® Eco Beauty Acetone-Free Nail Polish Remover
http://www.birchbox.com/shop/june2012-box/lafresh-nail-polish-remover-wipes
LOVE These!! I am getting some with my next order!
The morning after I got my box I threw one in my purse to remove my current polish before work. I get to work early so I usually sit in my car and listed to music for 15 minutes or so before I have to go in. One pad literally removes all 10! I had about 2 coats + top coat of a basic creme colored polish and I could have kept going. The scent is great and it doesn't dry my fingers out after use. They really are perfect for travel or a quick remove!

tili Bags Small Collection 1
http://www.birchbox.com/shop/june2012-box/tili-bags1-quart
This are suuuper cute and fun. They have two different pattern sets and quart and gallon sizes. Honestly - I think I may be picking these up for our upcoming travels. Theyre a little more expensive than a box of ziplocks from the grocery store - but youre not using these once. They're not only cute - but we can easily and quickly differentiate whos crap is whos!

So there ya have it! A redeeming BirchBox after my last 2 months!! What are your thoughts on this months BirchBox?

My May Gossip Girl Birchbox!

This week I also got my BirchBox in, and it was the Gossip Girl edition. As highly anticipated as this was - I'm not sure how I am with it. Before this month went out I've been on the fence with cancelling and trying out Glossybox now that its in the US. One more month, I said, and I think I will hols out just one more month one more time. Anywho - wheres what it had:

Not pictures separately: Twist Band headband &

Dr. Jart+ Waterfuse BB Cream: thought of as a four-in-one moisturizer, serum, sunscreen, and skin-perfecting tint.

Arquiste L'Etrog

Color Club - Disco Nap mini

Extra - Note cards.

This nail polish is a fantastic metallic gold (the one item in this box I was excited to try out)
The headband - I'm not so sure about being that I have a lot of hair, and the ones that are "no slide" slide
The perfume - I haven't smelled yet - allergies have been less than pleasant - today being the worst. : /
The tint & cleanser I haven't tried yet - now that we are in the summer months I almost never wear make up - but I will try to squeeze it in.
And last - the stationary - Keep in mind that I have been receiving stationary samples from all over the place for our wedding. They are standard. Nothing special, really.

One more month, I keep telling myself! Haha! On the upside - I am getting the Spring Vox Box for review and I an very excited to see whats inside!!

May Men's Birchbox! (guest post from RJ!)

Those of you on the BirchBox superscription may have noticed they started offering a BirchBox for men! Well my fiance, RJ, was back and forth on deciding to start up, and he jumped in. To make it even better - he was more than willing to do a write up on what he got, and this thoughts. He inst as comfortable with blogging and typing up reviews as we are - but maybe doing this once a month will help him out!

So, on with his review:

The Men's Birchbox
So I finally broke down and jumped in on the Birchbox. It's $20 a month but I've spend it on worse things before so I thought why not. After signing up, they sent it right away.

What I got: Billy Jealousy LiquidSand Exfoliating Facial Cleanser, Kiohl's Ultimate Man Scrub Soap, a small spray vial of CoSTUME NATIONAL Scent Intense cologne, and a pair of Richer Poorer socks.

They call the face wash a liquid sand and that exactly what it feels like on the face. Not too rough though. I liked it and it does a decent job. Now as for the body scrub, that does a great job for exfoliating and has a decent light scent to it. Warning though, this is rough. I was a little shocked at this but it helps get the job done. As for the rest of it, there's enough cologne for a couple of nights out and a pair of dress socks. Sorry all but I'm not the greatest when it comes to describing scents.

My first Birchbox! (pic heavy)

About 3 weeks ago I decided that I would enroll for Birchbox. I mean - $10/mo for all kinds of new samples to try and share about....sign me up! The day that I got the email with my activation code I was enrolled in minutes! Then I waited almost 2 weeks for it to arrive. They use UPS Innovations to ship - of all the options out there I am not so fond of this service. It seems to lag unnecessarily - but I'm not paying extra for shipping so I cant complain too much - not to mention that's UPS's issue not Birchbox's.

Regardless - it made it here. alive. i'm happy!

So here's what was inside!

Pink Tissue paper makes every package fun!!

Harvey Prince - Ageless
This scent is designed to make you feel younger.
"Mix of Pink Grapefruit, Pomegranate, and Jasmine"
This has a light fresh fruity/floral scent. While floral types of perfumes tend to bother my allergies this one doesn't. This makes for a great light and fun day time scent!

Jouer - Luminizing Moisture Tint
Tinted Moisturizer in the color Pearl
I am curious to try this out.

stila - Smoky Eye Card
Base - kitten, Lid - diamond lil, and Liner - Ebony
I love the shimmer of kitten - this could be a new winner for a regular base for me!

Color Club - He Loves Me
A very pretty blush pink

Orofluido - Beauty Elixer
A serum to Strengthen, smooth, and add shine to hair with an AMAZING Vanilla Amber scent!
This will be tried out tomorrow for sure!

Tea Forte - skin-smart Teas
Super anti-oxidant teas that appear to be in yummy flavors and help our skin look more radiant.
I'm sold! I will be taking this to work to drink the next new mornings!

For my first box, overall I am pleased. I received a lot of neat items that I am definitely interested in trying out. As I do - I will be sure to update with a review!

If you are interested in joining Birchbox you may do so HERE, or follow the link in my "Contact Me" section.

RJ is thinking about trying out their Man Birchbox as well - if he does he said that he will do guest posts to share what he gets and reviews for you to pass on to your other half! Hes the best!
