Julep's January Maven Box - The Swatches!

Hello Beauties!

Today I have part 2 of my Julep January Maven Box! The first part shared everything that was inside and a review of the products I received. You can view that post HERE. I split them up to avoid one post overflowing with photos!

I found it a little odd that Julep is kicking the New Year off with a collection of summer neons. I mean, Its still cold and snowy in places other than AZ, our highs are in the 80's (no we aren't lucky - it's ridiculous for temps that warm in January!) I do have to admit though. Its nice to see neons, in the middle of the usual pastel lines releasing for spring. So enough of this before I get into a rant! On with it already!

So when I saw the previews to select my box and any add ons, I was pretty excited to add some neons to my collection. After using them a little, I was a little disappointed. The reason why I don't have many neons is because the formula is different, and with some, difficult to work with. While I used thin careful coats and allowed ample time between to prevent bubbling - they all still bubbled. This became a little frustrating. I am afraid that, while I do love the colors, that these will be used for "Jelly Sandwich" style manis and bases for glitters to hide the almost unavoidable bubbles. Another thing with a lot of neons, is that they don't dry to a shine. They have more of a rubber-like finish to them. I didn't use a top coat on and of these so you can see how they dry.

This was a very pretty nude shimmer polish. While Im not the biggest nude fan, this one was pretty, and I can use it as a base for some glitters!

Julep Bette - 3 coats

I am a fan of this shade. This one seemed to give me the least trouble with the bubbling as well. I can see having some fun with this and gradients!

I really enjoyed this green! And as many of you have read - I don't care for green fingernails! It was very appropriately named, and makes me wonder if they intended the Shrek reference.

Julep's January Maven Box - The Goodies!

Hello Beauties!

Today I have part one of a two-part post for what I received in Julep's December Maven Box. I added in a couple of polishes in addition to my box selection, and there would just be too many photos! So this one will share everything that came inside!

I really wanted to try out the Hand and Cuticle Stick - If I liked it, it would be perfect for travel and to even just keep in my purse! The box also included Teresa and Fiona, a very well fitted name for the green! I wonder if Shrek was the influence for it?

I also added on Madison and Bette. I have never been super fond of neon shades. I prefer pastels, or bold colors. Neons also tend to have a different formula that I am also not a fan of. But - I don't have many so I decided I needed to pick a couple up and try them out!

I already like the Hand & Cuticle Stick! The packaging make is very nice for travel and purses! No silly caps to fall off on this one! It is very lightly scented and absorbs nicely. You use this on your cuticles and the back of your hands. Its also a handy product to keep on your desk at work! I am happy that I picked it!

Julep has been coming out with a new beauty product in addition to their polishes, and I am loving it! Its a nice mix to have with the polishes! My profile quiz set me up for the It Girl box, which is 3 bottles of polish, but with all these new products that they have been releasing, I am more frequently changing my box every month!

Another wonderful quote card and some neon hair ties to match our neon claws!! I though these were an awesome surprise! I love it when they throw in little surprises like these!

They also included a sheet of their new "Swatch Me" stickers! These are the perfect size to stick on the top of your Julep Caps! It makes for a nice way to see what the color is, if you store your bottles standing up.

It was also a nice surprise that they included the stickers on the caps of my new polishes!

Okay, so heres the "Silly me" part of the post! Be ready to laugh at me! I was looking at these and I turn to RJ and say, "Its nice that they put these on the caps already, but how the heck am I supposed to put polish on them?" I've been a Maven subscriber for a year - so that gives you an idea of how many that I have. Not once did it ever cross my mind that the top of the cap separated, similar to Butter London's caps. Yep. I'm silly.

I have one more color of these to swatch tonight, and I will be back tomorrow to share photos of these bright polishes!

Julep Harper!

Hello Beauties!

So much going on and coming up! I am very excited for a big giveaway that I will be holding in a couple of weeks! Things with the wedding are starting to get busy! I am two and a half months away and its keeping me busy, that's for sure!  I am actually spending this Friday with my mom, and I am really looking forward to it! We are picking up my dress from getting fitted and hunting for a dress for her! We haven't had an entire day together in a long time, so I am pretty excited.

Today I have a short post, but of a lovely polish from Julep! This is a very pretty blue glitter that I received last month. While I am not the biggest fan of blue polishes, I was tickled by this light shade full of sparkle.

Julep Harper is a light blue sheer base full of light blue iridescent glitters. It was almost opaque in three thin coats. Tell me what you think about this one! It reminds me of fairies!

November's Julep Maven Box!

Hi everyone! A little late to arrive, I finally have Juleps Maven Box for November to share with you all! Lets just jump right to is shall we?

November's Julep Maven Box

The Goodies: Trina and Matte Top Coat, Nail Polish Remover Pads x 3, and the "Tickled Pink Scrub Set" including a Pink Grapefruit Body Scrub with Mitt & Towel. I also added on the Pink Grapefruit Body Frosting.

I really enjoy the Scrub and Frosting. They smell amazing and leave my skin moisturized. The Scrub is a little heavy with the oils, so it takes a little longer to soak in - but I love to use is on my legs since they get so dry this time of year. The mitt and towel are nice, they help with scrubbing away all that dry skin. I personally cant use them with the scrub as its too rough for my liking - bit with a standard body was they work nicely!

Julep - Trina

Trina is a lovely dark purple full of purple, red, and blue shimmer. This is 2 coats.
Another favorite purple polish! (Every purple is a favorite!!)

Julep - Matte Top Coat over Trina

Matte Top Coat over Trina
This Matte seems to mute the shimmer more than some of the other matte toppers. I am inspired to compare all my matte top coats, as they all seem different in one way or another to me! I like this one though, I am interested to see how it wears compared to the others as well!

Here is one of the Nail Polish Remover Pads opened up. They arent as moist as some of the others I have used, so I immediately thought to myself, "This wont clean one hand!" Below is removing the completed above mani, Trina x2 and the Matte Top Coat.

Heres my cloth after the attempt, and now dried.

And my nails...and whats left behind.
Honestly, Im not impressed with these, LA FRASH have really set the standard for me with Nail Polish Remover Wipes.

Have you tried the Julep Nail Polish Remover Wipes yet? What were your thoughts?

September Julep Maven Box!!

I have to admit - I was really looking forward to this months Maven Box! This was the second time I changed my style. I did it for the mascara!! While I don't wear much makeup lately, I am still on a constant hunt for "that perfect mascara." So if I find a chance to try something new or different I am all about it!

Not A Julep Maven subscriber yet? New subscribers can get their first box for a Penny! Enter the code PENNY at check out! You can check it out HERE!

So lets get on with the goodies this month!!

The unboxing!

My Lovelies!

Julep American Beauty Volumizing Mascara
I really like this brush! I was also impressed with the formula.
It seemed to stay well also - When I first tried this my eyes were a little itchy and watery from my allergies - and it stood up through my rubbing and wiping!
I am looking forward to using this more regularly!

Another wonderful quote card! I really enjoy these!

Brandt
2 coats. No top coat.
This is an awesome grey-black creme.
My camera and natural light wanted to see it blue in this first photo, bu the following 2 show it better.

Sophie
2 Coats
This is a lovely khaki colored creme.
This color would definitely be something I wouldn't choose to buy - I am very happy I got it though this box, and I already know some good mani combos for it!

Overall - I LOVE this months maven box!! Julep is slowly making way into other beauty products and they have all been wonderful! I really love the mascara and I can see this becoming a part of my make-up routine!

Are you a Julep Maven? Did you get the mascara? What were your thoughts?
