Zoya Ornate Collection - My 3 Favorites!

Hello Beauties!

Today is a short and sweet post sharing 3 of my new top favorites from Zoya! They did a wonderful job with these shades and I seriously love them!! I love the holo glitter scattered throughout these, they remind me of the sparkle in a couple of my favorite OPI DS shades.

The formula of these are great. Very simple to work with, no dragging or pulling, and the wear is normal with a good base and top coat. These photos don't show how well these sparkle! If you have a chance to pick one of these up I really recommend it!

Lets get on with the photos already!

I wear these a lot! Especially the purple, for obvious reasons! What do you think of these 3 colors?

I would love to see Zoya do more of these, if not full holos! I think a nude color similar to these would just rock!

Effie Trinket Mani!

Just recently I went to a bridal show with my mom. The day before I decided I needed something girly and sparkly. So I went after the Effie Trinket gradient from The Hunger Games movie, and glitzed it up a little. Even though the gold has a nice sheen I wanted a little extra sparkle when the light hit it. I took these photos Sunday night so there is some wear on the tips.

We had a great time at the bridal show - I got to have some mom time AND I won a couple of raffles. $100 gift card to a local salon, and possibly teeth whitening for my entire wedding party (I have yet to call them back, they're closed now. So I'm not sure if there's a catch. haha!).

On with the photos!

I used:
Base Color: Zoya - Regan
Gold Sponging: Color Club - Disco Nap
Glitter - Color Club - Gold/holo glitter (unnamed)

My Mockingjay Earrings!!!
I got these Saturday afternoon and couldn't resist taking the photo with them!

Polka Dots! Feat. Zoya Kate!

Yep!
Another challenge mani! This one - Inspired by a Pattern. Why not my favorite...Polka Dots!

I used:
Base: Zoya - Avril - 2 coats
Color: Zoya Kate from the Bloggers Trio. This is such an amazing squishy, neon, citrus-y pink!
Dots: China Glaze - Liquid Leather

I loved the final result of this one - especially this the black not being completely opaque. It keeps the squishy look to it!

Nails on Fire!

Another challenge mani - this one - Inspired By a Book. Well, since I am still working on the Hunger Games series, I have been wanting to try this out. While I wasn't 100% pleased with this one - the photos make it look much better. So I am alright with it! haha! I was in need of a better nail art brush for painting the finer detailed things (which I have now! woo!) so the Mockingjay was a bit scratchy to me. I am VERY over critical of my work though haha!

Enjoy!

I used:
Base Color: Zoya Raven
Flames: So Easy Stripe Rite in Yellow & Red, ORLY Striper in Tangerine, and Sinful Colors - Bad Chick.
Mocking Jay: Sinful Colors - Pot o' Gold

I after the black had dried I used the white striper to paint the flame shape first so the colors wouldn't need multiple coats to stand out. And on with the photos...

My Julep May box and some other Nail Mail!

I received some nail mail over the last week that I've been a bit slow to catch up on. So, here we go - all in one post!

Julep May Maven Box!

You can try Julep for a penny for your first month by going HERE and entering PENNY in the promo code section.

I was excited about this one as Julep has finally jumped into the magnetic game!

LtoR Nessa, Ashley, and Kylie (magnetic)

I also got the change to receive my first Models Own lacquers! Ran across the Summer Beetle Juice collection on Harlow & Co and decided to go for it.
As you can see Copper Pot is a bit messy on its' lid. That poor little fella was wounded in transit and/or manufacturing. He had a hole and a crack inside the lid. At least the mess inside was pretty!  Harlow & Co was awesome about it though. I sent them an email with a couple photos of the injury and they emailed me the next morning with a replacement on its' way. I hope to see my new on e early next week!

Last but not least - I fell in love with the Zoya Bloggers Trio that is offered on Birchbox! I had enough points to get $10 off a purchase so I couldn't say no to this one, really. Two amazing jellies & a shimmer!! I cant wait to swatch these babies!

Polka Dots!

Yes....another challenge mani! This one was very spontaneous and fun!

I had just received  Color Club Revvvolution in the mail and I was dying to see it. So I threw on a couple of coats and grabbed the first raspberry-like pink I saw and dotted away! I really liked how this turned out and plan on doing this one again!

Color Club Revvvolution - 2 coats
Zoya - Dita
No top coat

A Spring Flakie Mani!

This mani first started with my first experience with NARS lacquer. I found this fantastic color at Sephora and I couldn't resist! I am such a sucker for purples!! I went from almost no purple lacquers to more than half purple! hehe!

So I started with Nars Diamond Life. This is such a pretty light purple with a vibrant silvery shimmer to it.

The next evening I received my order for all three of Zoya's flakies and decided Chloe would just rock on this color. So I ran with it! (because the Nars is so shimmery it was hard to pick up the flakes) It blended nicely and gave it a great subtle look. My nails didnt scream, "HEY!! LOOK!! GLITTER!!!" But thats always fun too!!

Nail Mail and Valentine'd Day Mani no.2

First off, I will start with what went well last night. I got my order for the China Glaze Magnetix Collection. I am looking forward to start swatching these guys this weekend!

And the bummers begin. I also received my order for 2 different sets of the Bundle Monster plates BM01-21 and BM201-225
I was missing Three plates from the 201-225 set! ACK! I emailed Bundle Monster last night, and they replied to me this afternoon apologizing for the missing plates and that they would be sending them to me. I hope the come soon! So I was still very excited about these, but I was a little bummed that plates were missing.

I used my wilpower to set all these new goodies aside to start on my new Valentine's day mani. I dont think Mondays are the days for me to try something new! I was trying something out that I had never done before with horrible results. I will blame the fact that A.It was Monday, B.I was tired and I am fighting a small cold, and C.I had a TON of things I wanted to get done that night. This really bummed me out, and I felt a bit discouraged. RJ smiled at me and said, "Now you have a change to try out your new plates!" And I did :)

I used Zoya's Posh/matte with Seche Vita on top and used BM02 with Zoya's Trixie. I am still learning the stamp plates but overall I was happy with the results.

Happy Valentine's Day too all of you. I hope you all have a change to spend it with a loved one (spouse, family member, friend, furry pet) Also a Happy 100th Birthday to my wonderful state, Arizona!

Camaro Run Mani for Mom!

So this weekend we were in Laughlin, NV for the Arizona All Gens Camaro Club's annual Run to the Fun. While we are there we take over the London Bridge in Lake Havasu, AZ. 78 Camaros to be exact! My parents are members, and we go to help and play. Well this year we rented a Camaro to join in!! Here's a picture of us all lined up after the bridge just for an idea of what we do.
So now I get to my point :) I painted my moms nails to match their Camaro (first on the left). I used Zoya's Trixie and Ulta Professional's The Skinny for the stripes. I painted them with the Blue and then taped the two stripes with scotch tape, and added the silver. I topped it all off with Seche Vite.  She took this picture for me after the run - sorry about the quality, unfortunately it was the best one we got of it.
This mani was a lot of fun as we were outside in the sun a lot. Her nails glowed in the sunlight with the silver. I just love how shiny and sparkly Trixie is. I think its a must have, especially if you don't have a silver lacquer. As for the Ulta Professional polish - I just wasn't too fond of it. While the formula was opaque enough for one coat - it seemed runny and I had some flooding. My mom also said it was interesting to remove and she had blue everywhere for a while. It just didn't want to remove at all. I think I will get another bottle and give them another try, and hope it was just that color.

We had such an amazing and unforgettable weekend!
